Quilt Blocks Workshop with Suzie Duncan

Join us at Debbie Shore Sewing in Buckminster, Leicestershire for a relaxed and creative patchwork and quilting workshop with Suzie Duncan.

During this hands-on sewing day, Suzie will guide you through creating two different geometric quilt blocks, using the same coordinating fabrics in two completely different ways. You’ll explore accurate piecing, colour placement and how simple shapes can be combined to create striking, intricate-looking patchwork designs.

Along the way, you’ll pick up plenty of useful tips and techniques to help improve your precision piecing and build confidence with patchwork. The workshop has a friendly and supportive atmosphere, making it a lovely opportunity to spend the day sewing alongside other makers.

Your finished quilt blocks could be used to make cushions, wall hangings, bag panels or added to a larger patchwork quilt.

Your fabric kit is included in the ticket price.

Time: 10am – 3pm

Please bring:

• Your own lunch
• Your own sewing machine
• A basic sewing kit

We have a small number of JUKI sewing machines available to hire for £5 for the day. Please let us know when booking if you would like to reserve one.

Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Workshop location

The workshop will be held in the Village Hall in Buckminster, next to the Debbie Shore Sewing Shop.

The Debbie Shore Sewing Shop is also wheelchair accessible via a lift.

Half Yard Sewing Club members

Please note that the Half Yard Sewing Club member discount does not apply to workshop tickets. Members will still be able to use their usual discount on purchases made in the Debbie Shore Sewing Shop on the day.
